Anthropic is giving Claude Cowork users more room for a month. From June 5 through July 5, 2026, your 5-hour usage limit in Cowork is doubled. You do not have to do anything for it. No button, no request, no change to your account.
If you work in Cowork every day, that is not a small note. The 5-hour limit is exactly the wall you hit on a productive day. For a month, that wall sits twice as far out.
What it actually is
The essentials, so you do not have to guess:
- The window. June 5 through July 5, 2026, 11:59 PM PT. After that the limit returns to normal. Nothing about your plan or billing changes.
- What doubles. Only the 5-hour limit. Your weekly limit stays the same.
- Where it applies. Claude Cowork only. Claude on web, desktop and mobile does not change, and neither does Claude Code.
- Who gets it. Pro, Max and Team, plus the older seat-based Enterprise accounts. Not Free, and not the consumption-based Enterprise seats.
- What you do. Nothing. On an eligible plan you simply see the higher limit.
So it is not a new feature, but it is a good reason to give Cowork a real try. A month with double the headroom is enough to learn whether it fits your work.
How I use Cowork
I do not use Cowork for one thing. It is more like a workbench I hop on and off all day. A few ways that looks in practice, in case you want a starting point.
Wine research. For VinoVonk I let Cowork gather sources on a region, a producer or a trend, then pull the loose pieces into something I can build on. How to approach it: give a sharp question plus what you already know, and ask for the counterarguments, not just the confirmation.
Innovation and AI. New models, methods, releases. I let it work out what is genuinely new and what is marketing. How to approach it: ask plainly “what is different here from last time” instead of asking for a summary.
Inbox. Cleaning up, finding things, drafting replies. How to approach it: connect your mail and let Cowork sort the clutter before you start answering yourself.
Preparing content. Research, structure, a first outline. I write the text myself, but Cowork does the groundwork. How to approach it: have it deliver the sources and the angles, not the finished copy.
Turning recipes into notes. This is my favourite small trick. When I spot a recipe somewhere, I have Cowork turn it into readable text with metric measurements, grams and millilitres instead of cups and ounces, and save the result to my notes app. I captured that whole path in a custom skill that runs inside a project, so one instruction and it is waiting in the kitchen.
That last one shows where Cowork is strong. Not the one-off question, but the recurring chore. Build it well once, and after that it costs you a sentence.
